I bet you're wondering, "What the heck is a 'New Orleans Fresh?'" Well, I'll tell ya! I (Katie) am from the Greater New Orleans Area, the food central of the world, in my opinion. The "Fresh" part of 'New Orleans Fresh' stands for fresh food. So, to put it together you're gonna get fresh food from New Orleans! Exciting, huh?? I looooove food. My best friend calls me boujee because of my expensive, yet eclectic, taste. Alright, so what does this mean? You're gonna get top notch, fresh food from New Orleans. Feeling ready?
I've been curating my Instagram for about five and a half years. The blogging part hasn't been so easy. I've been busy with school as, up until recently, I was a Nursing major. I didn't feel like I had time to dedicate to blogging even though I knew it was something that I wanted. 'New Orleans Fresh' never morphed into what I wanted. So, two weeks ago, I said f#%k that and changed my major to Marketing. Wait, let's go back a year. I didn't think I was going to get accepted to nursing school and made a decision to change my major to Marketing. I applied to Southeastern Louisiana University and almost didn't look back until I got a phone call saying I had been accepted to nursing school. Okay, we can go to the present, now. I wasn't happy in nursing. I was struggling in all my classes and had zero energy. Growing up, I was art-centered, so being in STEM was a huge step out of my box.
I'm an almost 24-year-old mess, you could say. On the plus side, I have been described as a perfectionist, which you can look at as both a blessing and a curse. I simply REFUSE to put my name on something I know is crap. I was that way in high school for my photography business. I was that way for my graphic design. And I'm gonna be that way for my blog. That is my promise to you. I've decided to go into Marketing because I don't know what on earth I'm doing with my Instagram. I want it to go a certain way but I think because I haven't been as consistent it just isn't what I want it to be.
So, what is my ultimate goal, now? I'd like to be Social Media Manager for several companies as well as work for myself. 'New Orleans Fresh' is my coming home. I am actually going to dedicate time and energy to this platform. I want y'all to feel like this is a place to come to after a long day of work or school.
